Lauren serves as a Deputy Director of the U.S. Department of Justice, Civil Division, Federal Programs Branch, where she specializes in national security and foreign relations litigation. She previously spent more than 18 years at the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Virginia, including 13 years as chief of the Civil Division. Prior to joining the U.S. Attorney's Office, Lauren clerked for the Honorable Barrington D. Parker, Jr. on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. She is a graduate of Yale Law School and Harvard University.
