What is the Federal Bar Association?
The Federal Bar Association (FBA) is a national organization that promotes the welfare, interests, education, and professional development of all attorneys involved in federal law. Our members run the gamut of federal practice: attorneys practicing in small to large legal firms, attorneys in corporations and federal agencies, and members of the judiciary. We consist of more than 19,000 federal lawyers, including 1,100 federal judges.
The FBA is the catalyst for communication between the bar and the bench, as well as the private and public sectors. The FBA also provides opportunities for scholarship and for judges and lawyers to professionally and socially interact. We keep our members abreast of current federal issues and promote high standards of professional competence and ethical conduct.
The Northern Virginia Chapter
Our Chapter's programs, lectures, and networking events cover a wide range of topics relevant to the Eastern District of Virginia practitioner, and we work closely with the federal judges in Alexandria in many of our signature programs. In 2017, we were fortunate to have the participation of 10 judges in events hosted by FBA-NOVA.
